WINNETT ACES IN PLANNING STAGES OF RanchMT Program

In 2020, The Winnett ACES received one year of funding from the USDA’s BFRDP program to build a beginning rancher education the program called RanchMT. The program, funded through the Petroleum County Conservation District, will be much the same as the beefSD program run by the South Dakota Extension Program. RanchMT will be implemented during a two-year period with participants meeting 4-6 times per year in different locations throughout Montana.

Participants in this program will receive knowledge and resources on many different topics including marketing, estate planning, financial planning and management, agriculture policy, ranch transitions, and much, much more. Components of the class will include interactive workshops, mentorships, case studies, industry relevant educational trips, webinars, and post-weaning calf performance evaluation.
